    Analysis and design of low power CMOS ultra wideband receiver

    This research concentrates on the design and analysis of low power ultra wideband receivers for Multiband Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing systems. Low power design entails different performance tradeoffs, which are analyzed. Relationship among power consumption, achievable noise figure and linearity performance including distortion products (cross-modulation, inter-modulation and harmonic distortion) are derived. From these relationships, circuit design proceeds with allocation of gain among different sub circuit blocks for power optimum system. A power optimum RF receiver front-end for MB-OFDM based UWB systems is designed that covers all the MB-OFDM spectrum between 3.1 GHZ to 9.6 GHZ. The receiver consists of a low-noise amplifier, down-converter, channel select filter and programmable gain amplifier and occupies only 1mm 2 in 0.13um CMOS process. Receiver consumes 20 mA from a 1.2 V supply and has the measured gain of 69db, noise figure less than 6 dB and input IIP 3 of -6 dBm

    The study aims at finding the application of Human Resources Information Systems HRIS in the private universities of Bangladesh The paper is based on primary data collected through structured questionnaire from the HR personnel of 35 out of 61 Private Universities of Bangladesh A five scale Likert technique has been used to investigate the interviewees opinion The study reveals that only 22 9 universities studied are using HRIS in full extent while 42 9 use HRIS to some extent In 34 3 universities there is very limited applications of HRIS Again the highest use of HRIS is observed in recruiting and selection in private universities which is 80 74 3 universities use HRIS in their payroll system while the least use of HRIS is found in training and development of employees as only 14 40 universities apply HRIS technique for need assessment and train their employees The paper explored that there is a gap between expected application of HRIS and present level of use in the selected private universalities Among the main reasons of such gap Lack of infrastructure and high cost are found vital The other reasons are lack of expertise in this field and insufficient training of the employee

    Training curriculum on e-government: An empirical study on senior civil servants of Bangladesh

    E-Government is to be ensured for good governance. There is a limited work in Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) to identify the need for e-Government knowledge and skill as well as attitude at the level of Joint Secretary. Therefore, the outcome of the research would contribute to identify the e-Government training need areas in terms of knowledge, skill and attitude of senior civil servant of Bangladesh, for which Senior Staff Course (SSC) curriculum may be redesigned.The objective of this study was to identify and assess the training needs of the participants of SSC to modify the Information and Computer Technology (ICT) curriculum of SSC; specifically to identify the relevant area of knowledge and skill of the SSC participant towards ensuring e-Government; to determine and identify the training need/module for SSC to manage e-Government and to suggest for policy guideline. As a research instrument this study is used structured questionnaire. This study extracted the core areas of training need related to e- government knowledge and skill and attitude. Thus, Principal Component Analysis has done with those core areas of skill and knowledge. Descriptive statistical results revealed that all those areas have high and significant relationship among the major variables and achieved high score of mean value. Descriptive statistics reveals that among the four major variables those are: ‘ICT Skill’; ‘E-government Management’;‘E-government Skill’; and ‘Attitude’ have relationship and those are important for Senior Level Civil Servant. But the mean score of those variables are not high as it is required. Therefore, these are the potential areas for the Joint Secretary Level official to formulate E-Government training module

    An Alternative Proposed Method for Solution of Assignment Problem

    The assignment problem is a particular type of linear programming problem. In this paper, we analyzed the standard and existing proposed methods.  After studying these methods, we proposed a new alternative method for solving the assignment problem. We examined the newly proposed method by a couple of numerical examples and compare this result with the standard method. The main characteristic of this newly proposed method is that it constructed a very easy logical and arithmetical algorithm. Here we point out some advantages and limitations of the new proposed method. Programming code for the newly proposed method has been added in this paper

    Nutritional composition and amino acid profile of a sub-tropical red seaweed Gelidium pusillum collected from St. Martin’s Island, Bangladesh

    Nutritional fact study has prime importance to make the species edible and commercially viable to the food consumers. The proximate chemical composition and amino acid profile of Gelidium pusillum were studied to understand the nutritional status. The red seaweed Gelidium pusillum was rich in dietary fibre (24.74 ± 1.05%), lipid (2.16 ± 0.61%) and ash content (21.15 ± 0.74%). The mean protein content (11.31 ± 1.02% DW) was within the range of 10-47% for green and red seaweeds and this range was higher than Gracilaria cornea (5.47% DW), Gracilaria changgi (6.90% DW) and Eucheuma cottonii (9.76% DW). Gelidium pusillum was found to contained all the essential amino acids, which accounted for 52.08% of the total amino acids. Tyrosine (26.2 mg g-1 protein), methionine (15.8 mg g-1 protein) and Lysine (48.3 mg g-1 protein) were the limiting amino acid of Gelidium pusillum. However, the levels of other essential amino acids were above the FAO/WHO requirement pattern (EAA score ranged from 1.14 to 1.62). Aspartic and glutamic acids constituted a substantial amount of the total amino acids (24.68% of total amino acid). The result from this study suggested that Gelidium pusillum could be utilized as a healthy food item for human consumption

The two-dimensional Physical and mathematical model have been developed, and mathematical model includes the system of governing mass, momentum and energy equations are solved by the finite element method. The calculations have been computed for Prandtl number Pr=0.71, the Rayleigh number Ra=1000 and the different values of Hartmann number. The results are illustrated with the streamlines, isotherms, velocity and temperature fields as well as local Nusselt number

    Proximate chemical composition of sea grapes Caulerpa racemosa (J. Agardh, 1873) collected from a sub-tropical coast

    Background: Nutritional fact study has prime importance to make the species edible and commercially viable to the consumers. Proximate chemical composition and amino acid profile were investigated to understand the nutritional value and protein quality of an edible algae Caulerpa racemosa. Methods: Samples were collected randomly by hand from the intertidal zone of the sub-tropical coastal Island St. Martin’s Island from February 2013 to May 2014. Samples were preserved using standard methods for chemical analysis. Proximate composition was determined using standard methods, Kjeldahl method for protein, Soxhlet method for crude lipid, H2SO4 (0.3 N) and NaOH (0.5 N) for dietary fibre, muffle furnace method for moisture content, ion-exchange chromatography for amino acid and statistical package used for validating the data. Results: The result of the study reveals that C. racemosa contains higher amount of proteins (19.72±0.77%), crude lipid (7.65±1.19%) and fibre (11.51±1.32%) compared to other green and brown algae. The higher concentration of aspartic acid (12.7±0.2%) and glutamic acid (9.2±0.7%) were observed in C. racemosa, while histidine (2.6±0.7%), methionine (1.4±0.4%) and tyrosine (3.8±0.2%) were the limiting amino acids. Lysine (6.6±0.2%), leusine (6.9±0.6%), glycine (6.5±0.4%), arginine (6.4±0.3%), alanine (7.6±0.6%) and threonine (6.2±0.5%) were obtained at a higher percentage of total amino acids. Conclusion: This study suggests that C. racemosa could be potentially used as a nutritious and functional food item for human consumption. Further studies on this edible species should be focused on fatty acid composition, vitamins, non-starch polysaccharide constituents, trace elements and sensory perceptions in order to depict safer and versatile utilization

    Anisotropic structural and optical properties of a-plane (11-20) AlInN nearly-lattice-matched to GaN

    We report epitaxial growth of a-plane (11-20) AlInN layers nearly-lattice-matched to GaN. Unlike for c-plane oriented epilayers, a-plane Al_{1-x}In_{x}N cannot be simultaneously lattice-matched to GaN in both in-plane directions. We study the influence of temperature on indium incorporation and obtain nearly-lattice-matched Al_{0.81}In_{0.19}N at a growth temperature of 760^{o}C. We outline a procedure to check in-plane lattice mismatch using high resolution x-ray diffraction, and evaluate the strain and critical thickness. Polarization-resolved optical transmission measurements of the Al_{0.81}In_{0.19}N epilayer reveal a difference in bandgap of ~140 meV between (electric field) E_parallel_c [0001]-axis and E_perpendicular_c conditions with room-temperature photoluminescence peaked at 3.38 eV strongly polarized with E_parallel_c, in good agreement with strain-dependent band-structure calculations
